What it really means to be thankful. Everyday of our lives we always wish we had more money, time off, more of this and more of that. What about asking ourselves, what do we have to be thank full for?

I saw happiness in this family as I took their portraits. I saw the proud look on Moms face as I snapped away. Then I thought to myself, Kids grow up so fast, why wouldn't you want to capture every day of their lives. OK realistically speaking taking a picture every day? 365 days a year multiply that times 15? 9? Get my point.
I've always been one to say a family portrait is a great way to remember, reflect and cherish.

Portraits are always a welcomed gift for any occasion. I'm thankful and blessed to have the opportunity to capture the tears, and happiness of life. Which brings up the question, what do we have to be thankful about?

A healthy family and the ability to be on this great earth to enjoy each other.

I'm sure Weezie is thankful to have a family love him especially when he sits still for a portrait. Weezie whether you know it or not this family will talk about you someday to their family. Remember our dog Weezie? perhaps to their children or grandchildren. They may chuckle about you, and say what a great dog. And say to themselves. I'm sure thankful Mom let Weezie into our lives.

Thankful for being blessed with good friends. In 20 years I bet these two will still be in touch. Looking at portraits and perhaps maybe they will reflect on the day this portrait was taken. What was that song on your cell phone?

How about being thankful to just laugh and be silly?

And to be thankful that you have big brother who will watch your back no matter what. I truly enjoyed the Dennison family not only because I got the wonderful opportunity to take their portraits but watching how they enjoyed each other made me stop and think just what I have to be thankful for. After the portrait session I went home and opened a few of my family albums. Snapshots to some, just pictures to
others but to me memories of times in my life that will only be remembered by a portrait. Happy times as my children were babies and how they have grown. Memories of the past. Happy thought, a brief chuckle. Then the thought came to mind. I think it's time to get my family's portrait taken. Do I have any volunteers?
